Volume flow rates of geocomposites can be closely established by laboratory testing in accordance with ASTM D-4716 Test Method, which measures the hydraulic transmissivity (water flow rate) of geosynthetic materials at different hydraulic gradients (slopes). For predicting field performance, testing should be done in an environment that represents field service conditions as closely as possible.
The flow capacities of TerraFlow have been established based on a series of ASTM D-4716 hydraulic transmissivity test on 12" long specimens in a sand environment (simulating soil backfill) with 200psf applied lateral load.
